Let Them Fall

In the winding world, heroes and villians dance. In the unseen heavens the Gods turn blind eyes. In the hearts of the innocent, leaks small pleas, "God please just Let Them Fall."

Norte and Adder were tending to the motionless Ryhasola as best as they could. They injected her with serum, and tried many other forms of resuscitation. For a half an hour the two stayed in the same room where they'd found her.

"What the hell are you all doing? Resting in a place like this is suicidal." Ted Copper Steelman ran over towards the Adders. He sees Ryhasola and conducts a minute long physical. He reaches into his trusty satchel again and looks over at Norte. "Her soul was stolen. Norte did the demon who stole her soul touch the device I gave you? I..I think so. But I dropped it." Norte looks away and then raises his voice at the Thygearist. "You told me that that thing would protect me. You lied. You lied."

Master Adder watches as Ted places his hand on Norte's shoulder. "The demon guard doesn't stop you fear. That part is up to you. Believe me. If you confronted a demon and still have your soul, you either are a skilled fighter or have a guardian angel. Norte looks at the motionless woman and tears up again.

"You'll understand one day. Maybe after today you'll understand. Adder...I'll see what I can do about the woman. The path to Lord Vosce's castle is through this door. You shouldn't have to move to far before you see a set of stairs leading the way up." Norte and Adder began to head through the door and Adder asks a simple question. "How do you know all of this, Ted?" Ted scoops up the woman and makes his way through the other passage not giving an answer.

The two Calculators started down the green cobblestone hallway. The stairs could be seen in the far distance just as the Thygearist had predicted. It was only a matter of time before Master Adder came face to face with the engineer of this debacle.

Voih and Lake Rivers explained to the AB soldiers in detail about everything that happened on their trek to find Prince Vosce. A lot of them seemed skeptical at first but the community adders upon further calculations verified the two men's account as being one hundred percent accurate.

Other reports had come in from the AB checkpoints on the western coast. There all stated that a fortified mobile machine was burning the crops and smaller Mis Le Mis villages. The burn patterns on the continent were said to circle the perimeter of the information capitol, AB.

A line message was sent to AB capitol telling the Adders and soldiers alike to get ready for an all out attack. Lake was guilt struck at the outcome of their battle with the Green Wizard and guided the blind Voih over to the dining house to get some food.

The town that they found themselves in was a province of AB. It had no formal name but it served as a training area for soldiers with disciplinary problems and a way station for free slaves who wanted a fresh start in the military. It was approximately thirty miles north of the true AB which is why they found the dying Adder Voih and Lake Rivers in time.

The looming moon was half full as Voih and Lake Rivers ate warm cheese bread and sipped garlic soup. "So...you can go to Sinter anytime you like now.", The bandage clad man said in a calm soothing voice. Lake stopped sipping and just looked at the weakened Voih. "I'm sorry I lied to you earlier. Voih smiles and reaches inside his pants pocket. After a few seconds he pulls out a sheet of paper and slides it across the table in the direction of the pink barbarian's voice.

Lake stared at the paper intensely. "You're blind! When? How did you write these calculations?" Voih got up on his crutches and felt around for the back of the chair. "This was written nine days before I had ever met you. My equations told me I would succumb to a traumatic event. Unfortunately for me my math was not advanced enough to prevent running into the Green Wizard."

Lake sits there perplexed. "I can help you fight Demoni. I know tricks. Things not even math can predict." Voih feels his way towards the door. "I was counting on that too. You are the one character that seems to elude even our math. Fascinating!" Lake stands up and helps Voih back to the resting area. There he gathers everyone and begins plotting out a frontline defense against the fortified mobile machine.

Truth walked out of the forest from East Lavi and was surprised to see Franker and his men on horseback preparing to leave. The two towering figures faced each other in the moonlight neither of them moving an inch. The Goth soldiers fumbled around not knowing exactly what to make of this incident.

The horses became uneasy at the presence of Truth and without further hesitation; the watery voice began to speak. "I thought I told your men to stay put in Lavi Sorraha."
Franker got off of his uneasy horse and walked up to the looming specter. "My men were having troubles securing a town. Everything has been settled now though. We will head back to Lavi Sorraha and go through with your plan.

"There is no need to backtrack. We can go to Mis Le Mis right now.", Truth raises his hands and through the full navy blue sky, giant silhouetted flying beasts whooshed out of the forest and hovered over Franker's men.

"What is this? Some sort of summoning technique?" Franker backed up because of the sheer sized of the flying beast. "We are going to fly over the two oceans like the Metal Mage did!

The huge flying beast permeated with a putrid black fog and their eyes glowed purple. Every time they flapped their huge wings the horses were harder to keep under control. "Choose six of your bravest men. I will take you right to the Thygearist and you and I will both get what we want." The watery voice trailed off as Franker looked back at his men.

"You expect me to go into another's country with only six Goths? We'll be executed for sure." Franker rubbed his axe hilt as his men awaited the order for the next move.

"I could only create seven beasts on such a short notice. If I make more, it will take too much time and we will lose the trail of the Thygearist." On that Truth watched as General Franker Moon directed six of his men to relinquish their horses to the troops heading back inside East Lavi. The rest of the men started on the road back to Lavi Sorraha.

With another devilish hand motion, the seven winged beast land and let the Goth men mount them. The all hold onto the reigns and lean in close. Right before the beasts take off, Franker gives one more look at the being called Truth. Their stares of confirmation and delegation were concluding by the flapping of huge giant wings in the night sky.

Master Adder and Norte followed the continuous steep stairwell until finally seeing the entrance to the Vosce Castle. Without hesitation the duo opened the hatch and climbed up.

They found themselves in a marble chamber just like the one they had traversed through under the garden. They extinguished their torches and followed the orange shaggy rug up towards the main chamber. "This castle looks drastically different than the last time I was here. All of the demons about is suspicious as well." Master Adder wiped some muck off of his broadsword onto his pant leg.

"Calculators. You have no business in Vosce", the voice coming from a throne at the end of the hall.

"My Lord! Are you ill. I am simply here to report on my findings about your son." The voice became louder and more irregular. "You have no business in Vosce and you speak of things you have no understandings of."

Norte moved behind his father as the throne began to float in mid air. ‘Lord Vosce! You have been possessed. Master Adder gripped his sword and prepared for the worse. "That's not exactly right. Since you have disturbed the natural way of things here I won't even bother going into the details of what you walked in on. But let me just say this...the horribly burnt and disfigured green wearing figure began to materialize in the throne. "My father is dead and so soon shall you be!"

Adder shoves Norte into the wall as the Green Wizard materializes in front of the two. "Don't look at him Norte. Run. Just run!" The Adder ran at the wizard and stabbed straight through the semi transparent figure and through the throne as well. In an attempt to pull the sword out, Adder kicked off the chair and slide across the marble floor.

"Toys. Toys. Toys. You are in the presence of the Green Wizard from Hell and you bring me toys." The wizard materializes fully and pulls the sword out of his body. Tall limber vines come out of no where, grip the sword and throw it back at Adder's feet.

The stout yet strong Calculator speaks in a trembling voice now. "Hell? You were to go to heaven. That is what the scriptures stated." The throne rotated more and more. The Green Prince jumped off and awkwardly landed on the floor. The chair spun frantically into the wall making a crack up the middle. "You can't go to heaven if your own blood murders you. It's the curse of loving someone. It's the foolishness of trusting my father when I was alive that brought me to be the way that I am. But he is the one in hell now."

Vines pop out of the floor forcing Master Adder to roll out of the way. Norte tried to get up and run away but the voice of the Green Prince left him paralyzed in fear. "You killed your father and gotten revenge on what you say he did to you. So why don't you just go away?" Adder slices through the vines and spins away from the horrible burn green obscenity trying to avoid direct contact with the eyes.

"I am not done with my vengeance. I have no where to return to and no way to die. The complete genocide of humanity will bring me peace. The surprisingly fast prince runs towards the Adder. Adder in a panicked fit, back up and falls to the ground. His shining broadsword slides over towards Norte.

More vines come out of the ground and fasten Master Adder to the floor. "Look into the eyes of your new God!" Adder shuts his eyes and yells to his son one more time. "Run son. Just run!"

"Papa." Norte picks up his father's sword and his legs stop shaking long enough for him to get up and run at the demon himself. The blade pierces through the green velvet and a thick mist shoots out.

The beast looks at his heaving wound in shock and the Green Wizard's eyes open as though it's the first time. Across the room with a woman on his shoulders, the man's name is cursed by the Green Wizard as if the ghost had seen a ghost. "Ted Copper Steelman!"
