Let Them Fall

In the winding world, heroes and villians dance. In the unseen heavens the Gods turn blind eyes. In the hearts of the innocent, leaks small pleas, "God please just Let Them Fall."

Lake River's blurred view of the true form of Prince Vosce made him involuntarily vomit. Lake stumbles to his feet realizing that his body has been a vessel for this monstrosity. The Green Wizard raised his rotting bony arm and for the third time pointed in the direction of the western Mis Le Mis coast. I won't begin my attack against your precious Mis Le Mis, until I have dismantled every military checkpoint from here to Vosce."

You fowl retched bastard! The Pink Barbarian grew very angry from these words and hurled his dagger at it. The dagger hit Prince Vosce right between the eyes. "Fool!", The Green Prince scoffed as yanked the dagger out of his face. "I am immortal now. Daggers are like toys to me. At the clinch of his fist the transparent minotaur disappear into a putrid fog. The same fog surrounds The Green Wizard as the dagger in his hand flies into Voih's thigh.

"Young Calculator, before you die I want you rest assured that your country AB, will be joining you in the afterlife shortly.' As the Wizard's putrid fog gets even thicker, Lake tried to make one last lunge at the apparition.

The situation had escalated and died down again as eight Calculators lay dead on the scorched earth. Voih passes out and Lake scoops him up on his shoulders and sprints towards AB. "This is not going to put a damper on our friendship I hope."

Flocks of birds passed over the town known as Central Lavi. The general's troops were all up getting up at the same time. Appearing well rested from the excavation yesterday. Franker awoke in the exact same position he had been the night before. He himself and all of his guards had succumb to Truth's potent sleep spell.

Franker leaves the Library and heads over to one of the residential homes to take a shower when a Goth messenger arrives with a message. "Sir. Sir. General Moon sir the forces in East Lavi have overtaken our troops.

Franker Moon upon hearing this strikes the horse with a fierce blow. The man steadies the horse and awaits Franker's next action. "That Thygearist obviously has given these people weapons that rival our own. Tell me messenger boy, how many of my men in East Lavi did they kill?

The young messenger steadying the horse already answers his well rested general. "Sir between twenty-five and thirty men are unaccounted for since yesterday."

Franker snaps and grips the horses next until it pops twice. The horse falls to the ground twitching in agony as the messenger struggles not to wet him self while standing their.

"Get some armor and tell my Captains to get ready to move out. I have to go freshen up."
The broad general walks away and the young messenger slowly as the stares down at the mangled neck of his dead horse. Peeing on himself, he utters the words, "He's too...strong!"

In the a dilapidated building near the edge of town, the remaining survivors of Lavi Sorraha sat up on cots staring silently at the dusty tiled floor. Right outside the building stood three heavily armored Goth guards.

"We should just sit and wait and do as they tell us." One woman whispered sternly yet quietly. "All of the men are dead and we have no idea in hell what happened," another woman chimed in. At this point the children started tearing up and the rest of the women who had nothing to lend to the subject hugged them to quiet them down.

"They will kill us or trade us off or make us whores. We have to wait for the right moment and then make our escape. Another woman petting a boy's head interrupts. "If we get the opportunity to run we run. All agreed?"

Outside the sounds of soldiers running could be heard. The stumping of horses ensued with the sound of a horn. The little girl who had traded words with the general yesterday lifted herself a little to see through the cracked smoky window.

Her mother quickly pulled her down again. "Lorna! Don't be so careless. No doubt the East Lavi resistance is giving them some troubles. If there are more horns after these initial horns we should assume that the Goths are losing lives and calling for more men. I think if we hear at least three horns after this one, we should make a run for it" Everyone in the room gave a quiet nod of agreement.

"How is it that our town fell so easily then?", Another wonders aloud. Before anyone can answer that question, General Franker Moon opens the door. His demeanor was much different from the other night. He was clean looking, clean smelling and very dapper. He surveys the room and points to the refugee woman whose life he had spared. "You are riding with me to East Lavi, now. Lorna runs up and tugs at the woman's dress "Mommy!" Franker grabs the two up and exits the building in a hurry. A bunch of soldiers rush in the room afterwards.

At the edge of Central Lavi, there were about fifty Goth soldiers on horseback and another hundred on foot. Franker's carriage pulled up in front of the dilapidated building and the two women are bound and then escorted onto the carriage after the general.

A second horn sounds and the fifty men on horseback shoot off into the distance with Franker's caravan following close behind.

When Ted awoke, he found himself face down in a darkened crevice with next to no light and water up to his knees. Ted the Thygearist looks up and only sees blackness.
"What in the hell pulled me down here?" The water sloshes and something brushes past his leg. Ted draws his hand cannon when a familiar voice speaks out. "Papa!" Norte cries out in the damp, dark place.

"Norte it's me Ted. I don't know where your dad is right now, but we have to find a way out of here." Ted gropes in the pitch black nothingness until he finds Norte's arm.

They work their way along the wall in a single file fashion. As they mover further to water becomes higher. "We must be in some kind of sewage system." Ted Copper feels a hand brush again his shoulder in the Darkness.

"Hey, lover boy. The beautiful voice whispered in the darkness. "Ted I'm scared." Norte gripped Ted Copper Steelman's hand tight now. The more the two inched forward the more slippery hands began to grope at them in the darkness. Since neither of the two had a torch, they just relied on each for direction.

Ted held Norte up as the water rose to his neck. "Stop touching me. Papa. Papa. Papa!", More gropes followed the young boys request and Ted's head was completely submersed in water now.

The waterway became narrower and Norte upon diving in could not hear the voices anymore. Their water was far the thick and oily to see in so Ted Copper Steelman and Norte just swam as hard as they could until to water became shallow again.

Coughing and gagging over the gross scenario that had played out Norte rises to his feet and looks around. The room he and Ted in was well lit now. A few dozen torches hung on the walls on either side of them. Ted Copper stood up and ran his hand along the wall. Gripping a torch he began to speak to the young Calculator. "This is the sewage system for Lord Vosce's castle. He seems to be in a bad mood today. Norte grabs a torch too and sidles a lot closer to Ted. "What were those hands and voices back there?"

"Demoni.", Ted says this statement with a blank face to make Norte feel more at ease. "It seems as though Vosce is possessed by demons now. This is quite disheartening. Their powers must be growing if they are venturing into towns now."

"What makes you think there are more of them Ted?", Norte says this in the flame light adding a tense urgency to his question. "Demoni don't travel alone. What's more is that normal demons, like the one I encountered when I met you or the ones just now, do not gain the ability to speak until they possess a human soul." Ted wipes some of the sludge from around his neck as they march through the corridor.

"This is no doubt some sort of universal atonement for the king's disagreeable acts in the past." Ted Copper stops in his tracks hearing the sound of lots of laughter ahead. The sounds of a young woman screaming can be heard as well. Norte tries to run towards the scream but Ted grabs him by the leg. Norte, whatever is going on up there we surely make us scream to. Let's stop here for a moment so that I can work on something." Norte gives the Thygearist one cold look of disgust and pulls himself feel. "That's Ryhasola's voice. I have to help her." The screams die down and the wicked laughter erupts again. Ted kneels down and quickly begins sorting through his metallic objects. "I won't stop you from going up there unprepared, but I will tell you one thing. If you go into any dangerous situation unprepared, you won't need a calculator to figure the outcome."

Norte stands in the one spot quivering from Ted's words. As the laugher subsided, Norte knelt next to the Metal Mage and began to watch closely. "Were going to save your dad, Norte." Ted Copper Steelman looks into Norte tearing eyes and starts interlocking bits of metal.
